We only stock factory made Nano SIMs, if you order Mini (ie largest/normal size), or Micro SIM size, we will send a Nano SIM with a SIM adapter set that allows you to scale up the Nano SIM to Mini or Micro size.
Your SIM card will be pre-activated and ready to use when you receive it - your 30 days starts from when it first connects to the network in Japan (it won't connect to a network outside of Japan).

Precaution Statement for Prepaid Data SIM Card Purchase
Please read and understand the followings before purchasing.
-- The connection speeds shown above are provided on best effort basis.
-- Actual speeds vary depending on location and connection status.
-- Your device must be SIM-Free (unlocked).
-- Your device must support W-CDMA / HSDPA / HSUPA 2100MHz or 800MHz
-- Your device should be on the GSM Arena site showing 800 or 2100MHz
-- Blackberry handset is not supported
-- Countdown on your 30 days starts on the day of first use (can't refund once card connects to network- get in touch immediately if connects but data not working).
-- Network service provider (Japan Communications Inc.) reserves the right to restrict the connection speed for customers who have used more than 360MB over the previous three days including the current day.
-- JCI uses Outbound Port 25 Blocking as a countermeasure for spam emails.
-- Traffic information will be collected and analyzed to provide service in accordance with the conditions of use.
-- Customers shall not transfer the product to third parties.
The Japanese data SIM will be pre-activated when you receive it. You can use it straight away and 30-day period starts when you first connect to the network (can only connect in Japan).
You need to set the APN – to get your data SIM working. The following are the APN setup overview for 4 different types of devices (Full setup guide with screenshots and FAQs is HERE).
- Manually Set APN
- Android; Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Cellular networks > Access Point Names > Create new > (enter APN: soracom.io ) ...no username/password
- iPhone (will depend version of iOS): Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network > (enter APN: soracom.io ) ...no username/password
